Growth habit: Upright and arching.
Foliage: Flat, thin leaf blades with rough margins, 5 to 9 inches long and about 1 inch wide.
Flowers: Drooping long panicles with flat, silvery-green oat-looking spikelets on drooping panicles in the late summer turn a handsome brown and remain on the plant into winter
Culture: Full sun and fertile, well-drained soil preferred, but will tolerate most conditions. Self seeds
Uses: Borders, shade gardens, naturalized areas, water gardens, flower arrangements, dried flowers
