Notes:
Height x width: 1.5 to 2.5 feet tall and 2 to 4 feet wide.
Growth habit: Erect with vase-like spread
Foliage: Fronds are lanceolate to ovate-oblong, bipinnate, leathery texture. Expanding leaf buds are at first a coppery color, later unfolding to a bronze-green until maturity, when they are dark shiny green. Spores are in sori located along the midrib of the pinnules. Brown furry scales on the stalk and rachis.
Culture: Prefers cool, shady, protected site with moist soil. Open shade is the ideal exposure.
Uses: Shady border or specimen in the woodland garden
Propagation: Spores or division
Cultivars:
‘Autumn Brilliance’ has extra shiny, yellow-green fronds and matures at 1.5 to 2 feet
