Diane,You are absolutely right. Thank you for letting us know. For us bowmans root it is a bit touchy regardless of deer. You need really well drained soil not the wet, heavy winter clay that we have in Cincinnati. You can grow it here it just doesnt thrive like I have seen it in Philly.Thanks for commentingSteve
