Notes:
Growth habit: Upright
Foliage: Opposite, ovate to ovate-lanceolate, serrated margins, 2 to 3 inches long and 1 inch wide. Strong anise fragrance.
Flowers: Small blue or purple flowers packed into a 4 to 5-inch long terminal spike. Blooms in July; flowers remail for a long time, and it will re-bloom if deadheaded.
Culture: Full sun and moist, well-drained soil
Uses: Border, cut flower. Leaves are edible and are used in teas, salads and drinks. Attracts bees, hummingbirds and butterflies
Propagation: Seed
Cultivars: ‘Blue Fortune’ – 3 foot tall plants with blue violet flower spikes on wonderfully spicy fragrant foliage. Long flowering ‘Honey Bee Blue’ – plants are 2-3 feet tall, featuring intense blue flowers and aromatic gray-green foliage
