Notes:
Growth habit: Upright
Foliage: Opposite or whorled, oblong-obovate, 4 inches long, serrate, sandpapery texture.
Flowers: Yellow daisy-like flowers with large ray florets and brownish-yellow disc florets. Note bracts on underside of flower head. Blooms from July through October, if deadheaded.
Culture: Prefers full sun and well-drained soil but will tolerate most conditions except dry soil.
Pests and problems: Powdery mildew
Uses: Border or cut flower for tall varieties, bedding plant for shorter cultivars.
Propagation: Division (every 3rd year), seed
Cultivars: ‘Summer Sun’ is 3 feet tall and has double golden yellow flowers. Excellent for cutting, this cultivar comes fairly true from seed.
